A Pure Silver Tongue

The words of a good person are like pure silver, but an evil person's thoughts are worth very little.
Good people's words will help many others, but fools will die because they don't have wisdom.
Proverbs 10: 20-21

As Christians, we all need to make a commitment to love with our words and to build confidence in others.  Every word we speak can be a brick to build with or a bulldozer to destroy.

Chose your words carefully because you will have to account for the idle, thoughtless things you say.  Remember, words are seeds and they are containers for power.  They carry creative or destrctive power and they produce a good harvest or a bad harvest in your life and in the lives of those you love.

The same is true of our thoughts.  Thoughts bear fruit.  If we think good thoughts the fruit in our lives will be good.  If we think bad thoughts, the fruit in our lives will be bad.

We can look at a person's attitude and know what kind of thinking is prevalent in their life.  A sweet, kind person does not have mean, vindictive thoughts.  By the same token, a truly evil person does not have good, loving thoughts.  Your thoughts determine your results in life, so think good thoughts and bear good fruit.

Lord, Consume us with the power of silver tongues.  Teach us that our words really do matter in expressing true love to those around us.
