Holocaust Remembrance Day

NEVER FORGET.
Adolf Hitler's Nazi Holocaust claimed the life of over 11 million men, women and children. 6,000,000 of them were Jews. January 27 is set aside as Holocaust Remembrance Day so that they world would never forget.

"For these things I weep; mine eye, mine eye runneth down with water, because the comforter that should relieve my soul is far from me: my children are desolate, because the enemy prevailed." Lamentations 1:16

EO Dictatorship

Executive Order Dictatorship

According to the National Archives and the American Presidency Project, the occupant of the Oval Office has issued 144 Executive Orders since taking office. Franklin D Roosevelt holds the record at 3,522. George W Bush issued 291 over his two terms, Bill Clinton, 364 and Ronald Reagan, 382. The current officeholder is under the average of recent presidents, even in his first term. He is, however, using the EO power very strategically, often reissuing those of former presidents with additional, stronger language--Each time whittling down freedoms and seemingly undermining certain rights. While presidents governing by EO is nothing new, the era of using the EO to sidestep Congress is taking a new art form.

The Vice President says the president is about to issue up to 19 EOs to crackdown on law abiding gun owners in the name of child safety. The VP says that most of them will take aim at tightening enforcement of gun laws on the books, either propose or unilaterally (translated: without Congressional approval) institute an assault weapons ban, outlaw high-capacity magazines, and other measures such as a universal background check on anyone legally trying to buy a gun. These measures do nothing to take guns out of the hands of criminals or crazies that attack the defenseless--the very true and proven fact about any kind of gun control. They do erode Constitutional rights and punish law abiding citizens.

This debate over gun control has a double-barrel purpose: Take aim at the 2nd Amendment so as to disarm the public; and use its precedent to deconstruct other parts of the US Constitution. While you may or may not find the 2nd Amendment to your liking, try to understand that this is more about deconstructing the Constitution and, if successful, your First Amendment rights of religious freedom and free speech could be next because you will have no way to defend yourself against such infringements. One Jot reader contacted her US representative about the EOs. His reply was that EOs last only 60 days and the Supreme Court would probably uphold them. These elected hirelings have no courage.

People are writing in saying their pastors are discouraging political involvement, saying Jesus wasn't political. Jesus and his followers toppled the most powerful political system in the world--the Roman Empire--by making disciples. That is extremely political. They influenced military leaders and politicians. In America, we are free to make disciples. We are also free to participate in government and are expected to.  On February 28, 1787, Founder John Jay wrote: "Providence has given to our people the choice of their rulers. And it is the duty as well as the privilege and interest, of a Christian nation to select and prefer Christians for their rulers." Pastors who speak otherwise are part of the problem, not part of the solution.

Others question whether Jesus and his disciples would have carried guns. Jesus said in Luke 22:36, "He that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one." This is clear evidence that Jesus himself told his disciples to carry what was considered the most powerful assault weapon of his time. My personal opinion is that it was for protection and defense. I do not see anything un-Christian about defending one's life and the lives of one's family with a gun or any other means if necessary. In fact, I believe it is scriptural to choose life when faced with life and death.

Many Christians are over-spiritualizing our reality. Many others are led by hirelings who haven't a clue of what YHVH God's word is about. They just put their own interpretation on it and cause their flocks to be confused and ineffective. Again, with this issue of grave concern before us, I implore you to pray, repent, study the Bible and act accordingly. I have traveled in countries under dictators and socialists. Trust me. You do not want that for this nation. We the People should be issuing the Executive Orders, but we are so confounded by confusion that we haven't the ability to do so. It's time to turn that around.

Ben Stein's Confession

AMERICA WAS FOUNDED AND STILL IS A "JUDEO- CHRISTIAN" NATION. EVEN CHRISTIANS FORGET SOMETIMES, WE WORSHIP A JEW. HE WAS A JEWISH RABBI WHEN THEY PUT HIM ON THE CROSS, NOT A CHRISTIAN. THE WORD HAD NOT EVEN BEEN COINED AT THAT TIME. JUDISM IS OUR FOUNDATION.

Only hope we find GOD again before it is too late ! !

The following was written by Ben Stein and recited by him on CBS Sunday Morning Commentary.

My confession:

I don't like getting pushed around for being a Jew, and I don't think Christians like getting pushed around for being Christians. I think people who believe in God are sick and tired of getting pushed around, period. I have no idea where the concept came from, that America is an explicitly atheist country. I can't find it in the Constitution and I don't like it being shoved down my throat...

Or maybe I can put it another way: where did the idea come from that we should worship celebrities and we aren't allowed to worship God as we understand Him? I guess that's a sign that I'm getting old, too. But there are a lot of us who are wondering where these celebrities came from and where the America we knew went to.

In light of the many jokes we send to one another for a laugh, this is a little different: This is not intended to be a joke; it's not funny, it's intended to get you thinking.
In light of recent events... terrorists attack, school shootings, etc.. I think it started when Madeleine Murray O'Hare (she was murdered, her body found a few years ago) complained she didn't want prayer in our schools, and we said OK. Then someone said you better not read the Bible in school... The Bible says thou shalt not kill; thou shalt not steal, and love your neighbor as yourself. And we said OK.

Then Dr. Benjamin Spock said we shouldn' t spank our children when they misbehave, because their little personalities would be warped and we might damage their self-esteem (Dr. Spock's son committed suicide). We said an expert should know what he's talking about.. And we said okay..

Now we're asking ourselves why our children have no conscience, why they don't know right from wrong, and why it doesn't bother them to kill strangers, their classmates, and themselves.

Probably, if we think about it long and hard enough, we can figure it out. I think it has a great deal to do with 'WE REAP WHAT WE SOW.'

Funny how simple it is for people to trash God and then wonder why the world's going to hell. Funny how we believe what the newspapers say, but question what the Bible says. Funny how you can send 'jokes&# 39; through e-mail and they spread like wildfire, but when you start sending messages regarding the Lord, people think twice about sharing. Funny how lewd, crude, vulgar and obscene articles pass freely through cyberspace, but public discussion of God is suppressed in the school and workplace.

Are you laughing yet?

Funny how when you forward this message, you will not send it to many on your address list because you're not sure what they believe, or what they will think of you for sending it.

Funny how we can be more worried about what other people think of us than what God thinks of us.

Pass it on if you think it has merit.

If not, then just discard it... no one will know you did. But, if you discard this thought process, don't sit back and complain about what bad shape the world is in.

My Best Regards, Honestly and respectfully,

Ben Stein

The Streets Are Quiet

The prophetic infamy of January 1, 2013

While most people enjoyed time with family and friends having a day off on January 1, 2013, no man's property or livelihood was safe. Congress was in session working so very hard to avert the so-called "Fiscal Cliff." We the People are going to pay the fiddler for Congress and the White House dancing all year. Most of us--translated 80%--will pay about $1,600 each more in taxes, according to the nonpartisan Tax Policy Center. Early estimates by the Congressional Budget Office are that the deal will actually raise the national debt by another $3.7 TRILLION dollars. So we pay more, the national debt increases, and the government grows and grows more powerful at our expense.

Hard to believe that the streets are quiet in America. The Founding Fathers started a revolution against the most powerful military force in the world over a two-cent tax on tea. We just get up and get ready for the next day as if it is all good. We have become slaves to our own system. Christians make excuses such as "give unto Caesar what is Caesar's" or I am part of God's kingdom, not a country--or whatever. So excuse away! Keep playing that fiddle. Play it until there is nothing left of it. Because that is what will happen if we continue allowing these scoundrels to make it appear as though they are "gridlocked" and have no choice when in actuality they are in cahoots and use imaginary crisis to get what they want. Real gridlock would be five million people converging on Washington, DC, demanding accountability.

Galatians 5:1 says, "Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ has made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage." Of course the context of the verse is that we are not children of the bondwoman, but of the free. Christ died for our sins, we are no longer in the bondage of sin. But hear this: the spiritual bondage of sin is certain to be manifest in physical bondage. The farther away we fall from YHVH, the closer we come to bondage. It is in this that we as a people, as a nation, who have the freedom to select our leaders, are entering into bondage because of the choices we make, the apathy we live. Our political choices are reflected by our spiritual choices and the consequences are before us.

In these perilous times we must begin acting according to The Great Commission. If so done, hearts will be changed; Ways of life will change; Leadership will change; The nation will change. But it will take more effort than what has been done in the last 50 or more years. People will have to know the Word, not just accept some preacher's or intercessor's self indulgent extra-biblical interpretation of the Word.  We must engage society, which can't be done from within the four walls of Laodecia.

The political leaders of our nation acted in infamy on January 1, 2013. Will the spiritual leaders continue to act in infamy by ignoring the prophetic consequences of their works? Romans 13:12: The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light." Our destiny individually and as a nation is in our hands, not satan's, not some politician's. It is us who will someday stand individually before the God of creation. Let not be heard the words of infamy--"Depart from me, I never knew you." But rather, let it be heard famously "Well done, good and faithful servant."
