The Conditioning of the Masses

"We do not want another committee, we have too many already. What we want is a man of sufficient stature to hold the allegiance of all the people and to lift us up out of the economic morass into which we are sinking. Send us such a man, and whether he be God or devil, we will receive him."
These dangerous and telling words, attributed to Paul-Henri Spaak, one-time secretary general of NATO and first president of the United Nations General Assembly, epitomize the day in which we live. The people of the world are being conditioned for just such a person -- we call him the antichrist, and he will be the devil incarnate.
The conditioning of the masses is taking many forms. One esoteric, but increasingly prolific, form of preparation has been the whole subject of unidentified flying objects (UFOs). I've written on this subject before (a couple times, actually), but this past week the subject entered the mainstream.
Dr. Mazlan Othman, Malaysia's first astrophysicist and head of the UN Office for Outer Space Affairs (Unoosa) was this week officially appointed "Space Ambassador" by the United Nations. Did you catch that? The UN -- a very official, if dubious, body -- actually has an Office for Outer Space Affairs and just appointed an ambassador to greet aliens from outer space when they arrive! You can't make this stuff up!
That's not all. On Monday, September 27, several former U.S. military officers confirmed in a press conference held at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C., that they had witnessed UFOs tampering with US nuclear missile control sites in 1967. These are well-respected U.S. military officers, not wacko conspiracy theorists.
Furthermore, earlier this year the British government released 6,000 pages of UFO documents on sightings within the country. And the Royal Society of London which earlier this year held a conference on The Detection of Extraterrestrial Life and the Consequences for Science and Society, has another meeting scheduled this week (that the new UN space ambassador plans to attend) titled, "Towards a Scientific and Societal Agenda on Extraterrestrial life". Lord Martin Rees, president of the Royal Society, is quoted as saying, "Aliens may be staring us in the face . . . I suspect there could be life and intelligence out there in forms we can't conceive . . . it could be there are aspects of reality that are beyond the capacity of our brains."
Brannon Howse, sitting in for Jan on our Understanding the Times radio broadcast this past Saturday (Oct. 2, 2010), equated the official and increased recognition of UFOs with "religious syncretism" -- the coalescing of the one-world religion by bringing many divergent and seemingly incompatible religions together. Brannon asked his guest, Gary Bates, author of the book Alien Intrusion: UFOs and the Evolution Connection, if he saw the UFO phenomenon as laying the foundation for the antichrist. "I could not see a better explanation. Because, in fact, most of the UFO writings -- and particularly the writings that claim to have been channeled to receivers here on the Earth -- do have an eschatology, and it seems to strongly, actually, follow the idea that people are going to be whisked away off the Earth into space ships. That sounds like the Rapture . . ." which we know is necessary in order for the antichrist to make his entrance.
Dr. Ron Carlson, president of Christian Ministries International, and Ed Decker, founder and international director of Saints Alive in Jesus, co-wrote an excellent resource book titled, Fast Facts on False Teachings. In it, they address the subject of UFOs: "What about UFOs? We don't believe their existence should be denied. There is simply too much evidence today that suggests that something is there. It's no longer whether they exist but what they are."
They go on to say, "Our own speculation is based upon the study of Scripture and the study of UFOs, and we emphasize that this is only an educated opinion. What we believe is that we are seeing the world being prepared for the coming of the antichrist on a UFO. In other words, we believe that UFOs are of a demonic realm.
"Why do we say this? Because our world today is not looking for a spiritual messiah; it is looking for a technological savior. If some UFO landed on planet Earth and out walked a Christ-like, benevolent creature, an E.T. who claimed to be a higher intelligence who could solve all our economic and environmental and technological problems, the world would flock to him."
Whether the antichrist exits a UFO or not, it's possible that the short time of his reign on Earth will be much more terrifying than any of us could ever imagine. In his most recent book, The Amazing Claims of Bible Prophecy, Dr. Mark Hitchcock discusses the bizarre "locusts" described in Revelation 9 that will be given limited opportunity to hurt the followers of the beast during the Tribulation. Dr. Hitchcock states, "Demons do have the ability to appear in an assortment of material forms, both human and animal," and he gives examples of this. The Bible states that these locusts will, in fact, be demons set free from the abyss for a time. Dr. Hitchcock refers to this demonic hoard as an "alien invasion" (citing shades of the movie Independence Day) and he asks, "What will it be like when countless thousands of demons who have been chained in the abyss for thousands of years run rampant throughout the earth in visible form during the Tribulation? There will be unspeakable horror!"
But, as you know, for decades now the world has been in a conditioning process to accept this as normal. Movies like The Day the Earth Stood Still, Star Wars, Independence Day and television series such as Star Trek, Babylon Five, Lois and Clark and Stargate SG-1 -- just to name a very few -- have brought society as a whole to a place where, should the unthinkable become reality, many will accept it as a matter of course. And since the phenomenon is satanic, the enemy will hold sway over the masses.
I look at this and I see just another indication that we are so close to going Home that my ears are constantly perked to hear that trumpet when it blasts! From a human perspective all of this is terrifying. But from the perspective of the child of God, it is one more piece of the end-times puzzle over which our Father has complete control.
