Another earthquake hits Israel
Central Israel was shaken by a mild earthquake Friday night, the third temblor to hit the Jewish state in less than a week.
Centered on the town of Ramle (just miles from Ben Gurion International Airport), the quake registered 4.1 on the Richter scale and we felt strongly throughout the country.
Earlier in the week, two earthquakes centered on the northern end of the Dead Sea registered 3 and 4.2 on the Richter scale, respectively.
There were no reports of damage or injury following any of the earthquakes, though each prompted Israeli analysts to point out the general level of unpreparedness and lack of building safety measures in Israel, which is expected to experience a far more severe earthquake at any time. Israel sits on the Syria-Africa Rift Valley, the largest fault line in the world.
