Where's The Truth?

Propaganda is defined as "chiefly derogatory information, especially of a biased or misleading nature, used to promote or publicize a particular political cause or point of view." In America, propaganda was always supposed be properly identified. For example, the news media's freedom is expressly guaranteed by the First Amendment of the Constitution. This freedom is supposed to be used to expose government propaganda with truth and hold the government accountable. When the news media largely just takes what the government says as fact and supports the point of view of big government, it causes government and politicians to be far less accountable and far more powerful.
When I was in Journalism school, we did a lot of analyzing of news stories to be able to recognize bias. Back then, we used Pravda and Tass--the official "news" outlets of the Communist Party in the Soviet Union. They were the most clever propagandists of the time. For example, one story was about an international race between a Russian and an American. The America won the race by quite a distance. The headline in the Communist papers went like this: "Russia second, American next to last in international race." You see how truth can be distorted by propaganda. The government has its own point of view and its own propaganda. Unlike the Soviet Union, America's media was and is free to report the truth.
When a society drifts away from God, it also has no bearing of truth. Some of the most godless people are in the highest places of both government and media. They believe truth is relative and that the ends justifies the means. Without God, there can be no truth. Jesus said in John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes unto the Father, but by me." Without Jesus it is extremely difficult to even discern truth because he is the truth. Paul writes in 2 Corinthians 4:3,4, "But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world has blinded the minds of them which believe not..." Jesus also said in Matthew 24:4, "Take heed that no man deceive you."
Herein is a two-fold problem. Americans are being fed deception by the news media which by and large cannot know truth because it has no foundation in Christ. Therefore, good citizenship as Americans requires that we do not believe what we hear from the media and seek the truth on our own. Moreover, we are called by Christ to make disciples. Romans 10:13,14 says, "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?" We as Christians must do a better job in making disciples, otherwise the truth will never be known.
Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!

Walk of Shame

"When wisdom enters your heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto your soul: Discretion shall preserve you, understanding shall keep you: To deliver you from the way of the evil man, from the man that speaks perverse things; Who leave the paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness; Who rejoice to do evil and delight in the perversity of the wicked." Proverbs 2:10-14

Hollywood is a sordid state of affairs, as are the politicians associated with it, and the people who pay for it.

To Be The Salt

"I am sad folks...
I am sad because many in the church will not hearken to the warning message. Instead, they have raised a token image and plastered MAGA over it. But let every man, and every devil be a liar, and let God’s Word be true. Because God’s Word is true, and His Word reveals that we are in the end times. It also proclaims that in the end times, great evil would be unleashed." Nathan Leal http://watchmanscry.com/?p=7054

I read many articles, watched many videos, listened to many opinions and heard the investigation and what it entails....or not. I think that Nathan Leal summed it up best, of all the material that I’ve seen this week.
When God brings judgment, He often uses evil men and women to do that judgment. He lifts the protection that God provides to a country and allows the demonic to attack and destroy.
I believe that Stephen Paddock was just such a man, tormented by demons. The one thing that has laid on my heart and mind is what his girlfriend is saying:
Vegas Shooter's Girlfriend Says He Would Lay In Bed Moaning, Screaming
That sounds like demonic torment to me. And, I’ve heard and read articles of people suffering that torment. During the day, they seemed fine, but at night…
Please understand that God is the one allowing this. And you need to ask yourself ‘why’, if you don’t already know.
What did Jesus, our Lord and Savior say that we are?
We are the preservation of our nation and community. When our church walks with God, the demonic are blocked. When our church does not walk with God, the demonic are not blocked. I believe Judgement has begun. I do not say this by special revelation. I have seen no vision. I have not heard any voice from God on this. But, I read the Bible, and America’s judgment is there.

If you do not understand what I am talking about, consider these facts:
90% of all Heroin comes to the world via the US.
90% of all pornography originates in Los Angeles.
America is in the top five, for the most permissive nations in the world, on abortion.
America murders close to a million babies a year.
America demands that every country in the world make abortion legal and easy to obtain.
America demands that the world celebrate and protect homosexuality.
America breaks in pieces any country that does not bow to the petrodollar.
The most popular movies in the world are American movies that promote sex and violence to the world.
American music is the most popular in the world, and it teaches an obscene level of sexual conduct.
50% of all American Pastors are regular consumers of pornography.
The abortion rate and divorce rate among American Christians is only a little lower than for non-Christians.

Think about that for a moment, and then think about the wrath of God. It will be poured out upon America. And, it needs to be poured out, or God will need to apologize to Sodom and Gomorrah. And, it needs to be poured out because American Christians have forsaken the way of God:

Judgment must come upon that which is evil. It must. But, God may spare those parts of America that turn to righteousness:

I believe that it is too late for America. Judgment has begun. The only thing left at this point, is to be the salt.

Mind The Checks

"And after the earthquake a fire; and after the fire a sound of gentle stillness" (1 Kings 19:12

A soul, who made rapid progress in her understanding of the Lord, was once asked the secret of her easy advancement. She replied tersely, "Mind the checks."

And the reason that many of us do not know and better understand Him is, we do not give heed to His gentle checks, His delicate restraints and constraints. His is a still, small voice. A still voice can hardly be heard. It must be felt. A steady, gentle pressure upon the heart and mind like the touch of a morning zephyr to your face. A small voice, quietly, almost timidly spoken in your heart, but if heeded growing noiselessly clearer to your inner ear.

His voice is for the ear of love, and love is intent upon hearing even faintest whispers. There comes a time also when love ceases to speak if not responded to, or believed in. He is love, and if you would know Him and His voice, give constant ear to His gentle touches. In conversation, when about to utter some word, give heed to that gentle voice, mind the check and refrain from speech.

When about to pursue some course that seems all clear and right and there comes quietly to your spirit a suggestion that has in it the force almost of a conviction, give heed, even if changed plans seem highest folly from standpoint of human wisdom.

Learn also to wait on God for the unfolding of His will. Let God form your plans about everything in your mind and heart and then let Him execute them. Do not possess any wisdom of your own. For many times His execution will seem so contradictory to the plan He gave.

He will seem to work against Himself. Simply listen, obey and trust God even when it seems highest folly so to do. He will in the end make "all things work together," but so many times in the first appearance of the outworking of His plans, we sometimes don't hear.

So if you would know His voice, never consider results or possible effects. Obey even when He asks you to move in the dark. He Himself will be gloriously light in you. And there will spring up rapidly in your heart an acquaintanceship and a fellowship with God which will be overpowering in itself to hold you and Him together, even in severest testings and under most terrible pressures.

To Honor Las Vegas, What Do We Do?

"The king asked me, “Why does your face look so sad when you are not ill? This can be nothing but sadness of heart.” I was very much afraid, but I said to the king, “May the king live forever! Why should my face not look sad when the city where my ancestors are buried lies in ruins, and its gates have been destroyed by fire?"
Nehemiah 2:2-3

I sit here stunned, deeply saddened by the senseless violence of an evil man who massacred my fellow human beings, my fellow Americans and God's precious children. Some who died knew the Lord, others did not, but all met their Maker on the most unsuspecting day. The merriment of music with friends, turned into a murderous, chaotic concert with friends giving their life for friends.

My heart quivers and quails at the thought of the defenseless and innocent being riddled by bullets. My anger, grief and loss is distant compared to the family and friends left behind. I weep. I pray. I hug those in my presence tighter and often. But what else is God calling me to do?

Nehemiah came face to face with the intense suffering of family and friends in his homeland. One of his brothers had just informed him of the chaotic and defenseless conditions of the Jewish exiles who had returned to Jerusalem, only to find it in ruins. No security. No leadership. No hope. Only the prospects of fear and famine. Nehemiah lived in ease, peace and affluence, but his countryman battled affliction, poverty and sorrow. The innocence's exposure to evil and injustice moved Nehemiah to move back to his people and provide a hopeful, practical plan.

"For he will deliver the needy who cry out, the afflicted who have no one to help. He will take pity on the weak and the needy and save the needy from death. He will rescue them from oppression and violence, for precious is their blood in his sight"
Psalm 72:12-14

How can we help? God may call us to serve those far away who were struck down by senseless violence...certainly family and friends. Mourning, comfort, counseling and Christ's gospel are much needed now and for days to come. And for all of us we can become more aware on how to help our community prevent sinful atrocities or to help bring healing to those suffering from sinful actions...their own or another's. Someone's sadness is our opportunity to offer gladness.

Maybe your role becomes like the King who resourced Nehemiah to carry out his cause for justice and reinventing his community. Your generous investment of time, expertise and money can make a world of difference in your world. Invest in mentoring to keep boys and girls from becoming another statistic of broken men and women. Initiate a movement of prayer, ask the Holy Spirit to breath on believers with a fresh fire of faith and repentance. Work on the revitalization of your town with renewal and job creation.

"When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, having canceled the charge of our legal indebtedness, which stood against us and condemned us; he has taken it away, nailing it to the cross. And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross."
Colossians 2:13-15
